Objectives

Photovoltaic research area are focused on design, modelling, manufacturing, and characterization of silicon-based photovoltaic devices.

The main objectives of the photovoltaic research line are:
  • Technological development of high efficiency Silicon Solar Cells for transfer to the PV Industry.
  • Development of Thin-film Silicon technology for transfer to the PV Industry.
  • Research in photonic new concepts applied to photovoltaic technologies.

To achieve these objectives, the NTC is involved in several national and international research projects.

NTC leads the photovoltaic research area in the Red RENAC, consisting of various technology institutes, research institutes, and university research centers.
