Results

The resultant developments demonstrated both passive and, more recently, active or tunable devices in silicon (photovoltaic diodes, and in the near future modulators and detectors) for the purpose of:

  • The distribution of high speed signals or all-optical logic operations in CMOS chips.
  • Sensing contaminants in the environment (water, air…)
  • The detection of concentration levels of specific micro-organisms in a sample of blood or saliva.
  • Using photonics to increase the efficiency in photovoltaic devices.
